Instructional: K-2

  • Games will begin at 6:00 PM and no inning will begin after 7:35.

  • Games should be minimally 3 innings in length.  Additional innings may be played upon agreement of both managers.

  • Players should make every effort to wear their team shirt.  No jewelry should be worn.

  • The HOME team, as indicated on the schedule, is responsible for providing and setting up the bases, providing a game ball, and a batting tee. 

  • The distance from the mound to home plate shall be 30 feet.  Base paths are 40 feet.

  • Managers will require all players to place their name on all of their equipment that they bring from home.

 

  • A manager, coach or designated parent shall pitch to his/her own team.

  • Batting helmets must be worn when on deck, batting and running the bases.

  • Each player shall bat once per inning. 

  • If the batter can not hit the ball pitched, after 5 pitches, a batting tee will be used.

  • No balls/strikes/outs will be kept.

  • No score will be kept.

  • Any batter/runner that is put out by the opposing team, will return to the bench.  If a player is out at base, they must leave the field.

  • Runners may advance a maximum of 2 bases on any play.

 

  • One opposing manager or coach is allowed on the field to instruct and motivate his/her team on defense.

  • All players shall play on the field.  This includes1B, 2B, SS, 3B, C and fielding pitcher as the infield.  Remaining players can be distributed in the outfield at least 10 feet behind the base path.  Alternating infield and outfield positions is recommended, especially for 1st and 2nd graders.

  • Only one fielding pitcher may play near the mound.

  • A catcher may be used IF and ONLY IF, a full set of catcher's equipment is worn. This includes a helmet with mask, chest protector, and shin guards.

  • If a ball is accidentally caught by the opposing pitcher/coach, it is a dead ball and the batter will hit again.
